Rotary Club of Corinth recently honored  Biggerville High School senior Allison Settlemires as Student of the Month.

The daughter of Jennifer Dooley and Keith Settlemires has a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked among the top of her class. Her leadership skills have resulted in her peers electing her as president of the class in grades nine through 12 and as Student Government Association representative. 

Settlemires is a member of STEM, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America, BETA Club, Reading Club and Music Club. She has participated in Junior Leadership Alcorn and the 2018 APEX Leadership Summit at Ole Miss.

 Making time to volunteer, Settlemires works with elementary students through the Community Connections Mentor program and has assisted with Havis’ Kids.

TThe active Lion is also an outstanding athlete. In fastpitch, she has been chosen Division MVP four times and as All Division the past three years. She was chosen All Division in slowpitch three years. In volleyball, she was chose All Division and Second All County Team in basketball last year. 

The fastpitch standout played in the 2017 Gatorade Junior All American Games in Sarasota, Fla., and the 2018 MHSAA Fastpitch All Star Game.   

In the future, this BHS super student plans to attend Christian Brothers University to further her education and continue her softball career.
