Alcorn School District is proud to announce our Staff Spotlight for the week! We are recognizing Lindsey Woodruff of Alcorn Central Middle School.
Mrs. Woodruff has been a member of the Alcorn School District family for the past six years of her seven year career. She joined the staff at Alcorn Central Middle School teaching seventh grade math in which she still teaches today.
She is a lifetime member of the Golden Bear family. Woodruff graduated Alcorn Central High School in 2010 as the valedictorian of her class. She then went on to receive degrees in elementary education from Northeast Mississippi Community College while participating in Phi Theta Kappa and Mississippi State University graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her decision to become a teacher was based on her desire to help students feel like they could be successful and learn. She said, “I try to help students realize they can still feel successful even if they don’t have perfect scores!”
Mrs. Woodruff is a member of Oakland Baptist Church where she serves on the praise team for the Tishomingo County High School campus and is also a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Corinth. She is looking forward to next school year because she will be the new cheer coach for Alcorn Central Middle School!
Her favorite part of teaching is forming relationships with her students. She remarked, “My favorite part of being a teacher is getting to form relationships with students that will last a lifetime. My first group of students at ACMS are graduating this year. I enjoy getting to see all the things they have done throughout their high school years, and I am proud to see how they are becoming successful members of the community!”
Thank you Mrs. Woodruff for being such a great part of the Alcorn Central Middle School family and for working hard to support the values and standard of the Alcorn School District!
