Callie Parmely Named ACTC Rotary Student for November

The Alcorn Career and Technology Center is pleased to announce that Callie Parmely has been named the ACTC Rotary Student of the Month for November.   Callie is the daughter of Kirk and Cathy Parmely, and she is a senior at Alcorn Central High School.   She is a program completer in the Teacher Academy Program at ACTC and was nominated to be our Rotary representative by her instructor, Mrs. Nan Nethery.

At the Alcorn Career and Technology Center, Callie is a member of Educators Rising and has been nominated for the National Technical Honor Society.  Back at her home school, Callie is ranked in the top five in her class and has scored a 30 on the ACT.  She is a member of the BETA and Math Clubs, is on the Academic Team and is a Senior Representative in the Student Government Association.      

Callie is an active member of our community, volunteering to participate in such causes as the ACTC Food Drive, Rotary 5K, ASD Reading Fair, Area II MS Special Olympics, ACTC Kindergarten Health Fair and many other activities.

After graduation, Callie plans to attend the University of North Alabama, where she plans to major in Secondary Education with a concentration in English.  After obtaining her degree, she would like to return to Alcorn County to teach high school English.
