Good evening. We have a number of parents that need to complete the Online Student Registration for the 2020-2021 school year. This is the paperwork that you have to complete each year for your child to be enrolled in school. You must complete the Online Student Registration even if your child will be attending class online during the day through distance learning. If you need internet access, a device, or any assistance, we are going to have an opportunity for you to come to the parking lot beside the elementary school next Tuesday and Thursday from 12 to 6 pm each day to complete your child’s registration. We can provide a device for you to use with the school’s internet. If you can, please go online and complete the registration by next Friday. If you need your child’s code, please call or email Mrs. Lee and she will give it to you again. Just one more reminder- To help ensure the safety of our students and staff, temperatures will be taken each morning before anyone enters the building. Masks will be worn during transition times but NOT REQUIRED when students are seated in class. Our coaches and athletes have already been following these CDC guidelines this summer as they are conditioning and preparing for the (hopefully) upcoming sports season. However, students can wear the masks as much as they choose too. Distance learning is an option for the fall semester if you prefer to have your child not be around other students due to Covid-19. Your child will need reliable internet access to use throughout the day for their scheduled online class times requiring attendance, real-time participation, real-time assignments, and proctored assessments. Tests will need to be taken at the school. This is NOT the packets or online lessons that were sent out in the spring. We have had time to better prepare to offer in depth, online, live classroom participation for all students. The application is on the Alcorn School District website and tomorrow is the deadline to apply. We are planning and trying to be as prepared as possible for the start of the school year. Our goal is to provide a rigorous education for our students while working to ensure the safety of our Lion Family. Go Lions!!

Many of you have been praying for Hollis and Shiela Duncan’s family throughout his journey. Hollis’ journey is coming to an end as they drive him home today. They will have a police escort from Dyersburg, TN to Baldwyn, MS. Motorcyclists will meet them in Eastview to lead the procession to Baldwyn between 5:30 and 6:00 this evening. People are planning to come out along Highway 45 to show their respect for Hollis and support for his family. They should be passing through the Biggersville area between 6 and 6:30 tonight if you want to come out. Thank you for all your prayers and support for this family during this long journey they have been on. Please keep them in your prayers as they go forward.
