ACHS Hosted the Class 2 State Golf Tournament

Alcorn Central High School made history this May.

ACHS Hosted the 2019 MHSAA Class II Women's Golf Tournament at the beginning of the month of May at the Hillendale Golf Course on Oakland School Road.

This was the very first State Championship of ANY sport to be hosted in Alcorn County.

Alcorn Central had two girls compete in the tournament. They were Ellie Barnett and Briley Waldrop.

Head Coach Charlette Foster was the tournament director and enjoyed every minute of it!

She recruited the help of many Alcorn Central Staff members as well as members of the Alcorn Central Senior Beta Club.

"I was very excited when I found out that we would be hosting. It was a really big moment to be a Golden Bear." - Coach Foster

The Golden Bear Golf Team also hosted the Boys regional tournament and had two boys advance to the state tournament. Those Golfers were Noah Stutts and Chapman Burress. Chapman was the Regional Tournament Runner Up in the boys division.
