RE: NEW Head (Boys) Basketball Coach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -

Alcorn Central High School has hired Josh Harrison to be its next head boys basketball coach. He replaces Mike Lewis, who recently retired from coaching after 47 seasons.

The Belmont HS graduate arrives at Alcorn Central after having served as an assistant coach at both Oxford and Tishomingo Co. Coach Harrison is married to the former Carlee Puckett of Iuka, and they have one child, Gabriel.

When asked what attracted him to the position, Harrison said, “When I first heard the position was open, I immediately knew this is where I wanted to be. There have been some phenomenal coaches come through Alcorn Central and to be able to follow in their footsteps would be a tremendous privilege.”

Harrison will hope to build off an experienced roster as Alcorn Central returns 10 varsity letterwinners from last year’s team.
