ITP Expo Winners

The Imagine The Possibilities (ITP) Career Expo, supported by CREATE and the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund, has been a big hit, especially with sophomores from the Alcorn School District (ASD). This innovative online event is designed to open students' eyes to the wide array of career opportunities available to them.

Through a dynamic mix of introductory videos, quick mentorship clips, engaging podcasts, and other interactive resources, the expo introduces students from the 17 Northeast Mississippi counties under the CREATE Foundation, Inc. umbrella to 18 different career pathways immediately available in our area. One of the expo's unique features is its points-based system, which rewards 10th graders for exploring these resources, offering them a chance to win exciting Apple products as incentives.

Guided by Career Coaches Taylor Johnson and Rebecca Lewis, sophomores from Alcorn Central, Biggersville, and Kossuth dove into this appealing experience. They made accounts and started watching videos to learn about all kinds of jobs using the content to broaden their understanding of possible future careers, all while being in the running for some fantastic prizes!

Their engagement and curiosity were rewarded during the ITP's selection of 35 winners from the participant pool. Winners, including 3 students from ASD, were honored at a special awards luncheon in Tupelo, MS. ASD's proud winners included Mollie Kate Johnson-Green and Mady Tacker from Kossuth, who took home Apple AirPods and a MacBook Air, respectively, and Braden Pittman from Alcorn Central who won Beats Solo3 wireless headphones.

This event wasn't just about winning prizes; it was a significant opportunity for students to explore the diverse career options that lie ahead. Participation in the ITP Expo truly underscores the commitment of the Alcorn School District to foster an environment where students are encouraged to explore and realize their potential career paths. The Alcorn School District deeply appreciates the support from CREATE and the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund for making such an enriching experience available to our students.
