Logan Cartee and Emily Sowell

For two months, the ACMS STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART, and Mathematics) students worked to create aluminum street signs with vinyl word art. The idea behind labeling the hallways originated with Mr. Travis Smith to promote Capturing Kids' Hearts. He brought the idea to the Art class where Logan Cartee and I brainstormed to the conclusion of making actual street signs using the new STEAM lab equipment. Mr. Derek Garvin, the 8th-grade STEAM teacher, paved the way and guided his students in completing 10 hallway signs. Next time you visit ACMS, make sure to take a stroll through Self-Direction Lane or Kindness Avenue!

Logan Cartee and Emily Sowell are pictured above after they completed all the signs.
