Math Department Spotlight

Jennifer Johnson (8th Grade Math)

Mrs. Johnson has taught for 21 years.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  Her Master's and Specialist degrees are from Delta State.  She also has her National Boards.  Mrs. Johnson's favorite thing to teach is Geometry.  She loves Geometry because she is a visual person, and she also likes it because some students that are weak in Algebra and other math topics excel in Geometry.

Lindsey Woodruff (7th Grade Math)

Mrs. Woodruff is in her 9th year of teaching. She has taught 7th-grade math for 8 years. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University. She likes to teach Probability because there are so many real-world activities and experiments that students can do to help them understand what they are learning.

Jaclyn Moore (6th Grade Math)

Mrs. Moore has taught for 9 years. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Education from Mississippi State University and a Master's of Education from Delta State University. She loves teaching skills relating to budgeting.  She believes this is an important life skill that students will not only use inside of the classroom but outside of the classroom.  It is a great skill that students can relate to in their own lives.  

Carlee Harrison (5th Grade Math)

Mrs. Harrison has been teaching for 9 years.  She has a Bachelors's in Elementary Education from  Mississippi State University and a Master's in Education Administration from Mississippi College. Her favorite thing to teach is Fractions.  She likes this unit because this is the first year her students begin working with fractions in a variety of ways. It is a challenging unit, but she loves to see her students persevere through the challenges and see the light bulbs begin going off in their minds as they make connections.
