Our kindergarten students are learning that big ideas can start with small bricks! During a recent STEM class, students used educational DUPLO® LEGO® blocks along with instructional design cards to guide their building.
The cards challenged students to create specific designs—such as a flower or a bird—helping them follow visual directions while strengthening early engineering and problem-solving skills. As they built, students practiced careful observation, sequencing, and spatial reasoning, all essential components of STEM learning. The activity encouraged creativity and collaboration, as students shared ideas, discussed challenges, and proudly displayed their finished designs.
Through hands-on experiences like this, our kindergarteners are developing curiosity, confidence, and critical-thinking skills that will continue to grow throughout their academic journey.
