Kindergarten Stem activity

Kindergarten students recently enjoyed a penguin-tastic STEM activity as they wrapped up several weeks of learning about penguins and their habitats. Nearly 100 students participated, with an incredible 37 parents joining their children to help design and build penguin habitat dioramas.

Using construction paper, felt, sequins, sticker snowflakes, confetti, crayons, markers, glue, scissors, penguin figurines, and lots of cotton balls (close to 1,000!), students creatively brought their learning to life. The project encouraged hands-on problem solving, creativity, and collaboration while reinforcing science concepts in a fun and engaging way.

This week, students will continue their penguin studies by reading Tacky the Penguin and comparing the characters and settings in the story to what they’ve learned about real-life penguins and their environments.

We are so grateful for our parent involvement and hope to make this penguin habitat STEM day an annual tradition—next year will be even more penguin-tastic!Kindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activityKindergarten Stem activity
