This month, students participated in a Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) lesson centered on kindness. We began by reading the book The Kindness Quilt, a heartwarming story about how small acts of kindness can bring people together and create something meaningful.
In the story, each kind act becomes a patch in a growing quilt — a beautiful reminder that kindness is built one choice at a time. After reading, students reflected on what kindness looks like in their own lives.
To bring the lesson to life, students created our own “Kindness Quilt.” Each child designed a quilt square by drawing or writing about an act of kindness they intend to incorporate. Some students chose ways to help classmates, others focused on kindness at home, and many highlighted ways to help our community.
