Northeast Mississippi Community College recently hosted its President’s Leadership Luncheon, an event designed to recognize outstanding student leaders from area high schools and introduce them to leadership opportunities available at NEMCC. Students were selected by their career coaches for demonstrating strong leadership qualities both in school and in their communities—qualities that extend beyond traditional academic measures. During the luncheon, attendees were also surprised with the Presidential Leadership Scholarship, reinforcing NEMCC’s commitment to investing in students with bright futures and strong leadership potential.
Students representing the Alcorn School District included Wyatt Hamlin (12th) and Kinsley Moore (12th) from Alcorn Central High School; Dillon Johnson (12th) and Elijah Nguyen (12th) from Biggersville High School; and Alyssa Davis (11th) and Rachel Johnson (11th) from Kossuth High School. These students were selected through a collaborative process involving counselors, career coaches, and other school stakeholders to identify individuals who exemplify leadership within their schools and communities.
Their participation in this event reflects the Alcorn School District’s commitment to developing well-rounded student leaders who are prepared for success beyond high school and who truly embody our district motto: Learn, Lead, EXCEL!
