mentoring field day

The Alcorn School District Community Connections Mentoring Program wrapped up another meaningful year with a day filled with laughter, encouragement, and lasting memories as mentors and mentees from Kossuth, Alcorn Central, and Biggersville gathered for an unforgettable Field Day celebration.

Designed as a culminating event for the year, the day brought together students and mentors who have spent months building relationships through the district’s mentoring initiative, which focuses on academic support, character development, and positive connections that help students thrive.

Energy filled the air as students and mentors participated in exciting relay races and field day activities, cheering one another on and celebrating the friendships formed throughout the school year. Between games, participants enjoyed food, fellowship, and plenty of fun, creating moments that reflected the heart of Community Connections—showing students they are seen, valued, and supported.

While the relays brought excitement and laughter, the day also served as a celebration of the relationships built through the mentoring program and the impact those connections have made throughout the year.

As the event came to a close, heartfelt prayers were offered for each student as they begin their journey toward summer and a bright future.

Throughout the school year, the Community Connections Mentoring Program has connected students and mentors across the district in ways that continue to leave a lasting impact. Field Day served as a joyful finale to a year of encouragement, growth, and meaningful connections.

As summer begins, students leave with memories of fun, friendship, and the support of mentors and a community invested in their success.
