Kossuth High School is proud to announce its 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Dana Potts. Mrs. Potts attended Kossuth from kindergarten through twelfth grade and graduated in 2000. She shared a few thoughts regarding this award and said, "All the excellent teachers I've had over the years here, inspired me to want teach, myself. This is truly a full-circle moment." This is Mrs. Potts's 20th year teaching. She received her Associates degree from NEMCC, her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Ole Miss, and she is currently working on National Board Certification.
This last year, Mrs. Potts had eleven students who earned perfect scores on their English II state tests. One of those students, Emma Crabb, said, "Mrs. Potts is so caring, understanding, and inspirational. She is one of the reasons I had the confidence to score so well." A well-deserving award, indeed! Kossuth is extremely blessed to have Mrs. Dana Potts. We are so proud of all that she has accomplished. Way to go, Mrs. Potts!
