KMS Reminder:Due to temperature checks we are asking that all KMS students be dropped off either in the KMS playground area or the KES car rider line.
Due to health restrictions/sanitation student microwave will be temporarily removed from the cafeteria.
If you are needing to pay for your students lunch, please send the money in a sealed envelope with the students name, lunch number and amount on the outside.
Due to the Governor Tate Reeves' executive order, all KMS students will be required to wear a mask while during school and on school buses.
Reminder:Students with A-L will come to school on 8/5. Students with M-Z last names will come to school on 8/6. All students will report on 8/7. Dismissal is at 2:00 until further notice.
All 5th-8th grade students at KMS will be issued an iPad this school year. In order for your child to be issued an iPad, the technology agreement must be filled out by their parent/guardian. There will be makeup KMS volleyball tryouts on 8/3 and 8/5 from 3:30-5:30. These will take place in the KHS gym.
Any 7th or 8th grade student planning on playing football at KMS this year needs to have a physical by 8/7. A physical is required to practice or play. If your student is interested in playing football or have any questions about football you may email Coach Dillinger at rdillinger@alcornschools.org
The 8th grade KMS student schedule pickup is tonight from 3-6. You can park and pickup your students schedule at the KMS office lobby.
Make-up Fast pitch Softball tryouts will be Monday July 27th at 6:00 pm. This will be for grades 7-12. Please be sure to bring glove, cleats, and your own water bottle. Must have physical to try out.
The 7th grade KMS schedule pickup is today from 3-6:00 p.m. You may bring the 7th grade student immunization form 121 that indicates that your student has received the TDAP vaccine. You may park and enter the KMS office lobby to receive your student's schedule.
The 6th grade KMS student schedule pickup is tonight from 3-6. You can park and pickup your students schedule at the KMS office lobby.
The 5th grade KMS student schedule pickup is tonight from 3-6. You can park and pickup your students schedule at the KMS office lobby.
There will be a KMS athletics booster club meeting this Sunday at 2:00 in the cafeteria.
KMS student schedule pickup will be as follows: 5th grade on 7/20, 6th grade on 7/21, 7th grade on 7/22 and 8th grade on 7/23. Pickup will begin at 3:00 and end at 6:00. If any students still need to clean their locker out from last year, they may do so at schedule pickup.
The Kossuth Middle School student supply lists can be found on the Kossuth Middle School website under the documents section. The supply lists are also at Walmart.
Softball tryouts for upcoming KMS 7th and 8th grade students will be on 7/20 @ 6:00 P.M. All students that are trying out will need to bring their own glove, cleats and water bottle.

If you are interested in auditioning for the Kossuth Color Guard, pleas let us know by emailing chdianne123@yahoo.com or bharvell@alcornschools.org. We will send you the audition videos so you can practice the routine. You can use a broomstick or a PVC pole to audition. We will send you the video links through email along with more info.
Upcoming 6th graders:
If you are interested in being in Beginner Band for the 20-21 school year, please let us know by emailing Holley Jackson at hjackson@alcornschools.org. There will be a placement test once school starts to determine placement in beginner band.
Upcoming 7th graders:
As we begin to work on the 20-21 schedules at Kossuth Middle School, I need to know what activity/activities (PE, Sports, or Band) your child will most likely participate in for the 20-21 school year. Please remember, PE is required if not enrolled in a Sport or Band. Sports include Football, Basketball, & Baseball for boys and Volleyball, Basketball, & Softball for girls. Other sports include; Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Track, and Cross-Country. However, those are considered afterschool sports and are not required to be on your schedules. Tryouts are often done in Basketball, Volleyball, and Baseball. Those tryouts will be determined at a later date. Students will be able to clean out their lockers at KMS on 5/27 from 9:00-2:00. Parents can pull into the KMS car rider line and students will be allowed into the building one at a time to clean out their lockers.
