Don't forget about our two pre-k and kindergarten registration days coming up! Early registration is very important to ensure a spot and helps us take care of classroom needs in a timely manner.
Due to the threat of inclement weather, the 21st Century extended day tutoring program is canceled for all AC campuses for Thurs., Feb. 16. Mrs. Jeannie's after school daycare is also canceled today.
Today is National School Resource Officer Day! We can't say enough about Officer Darrell Bullard. He greets our students and staff members by name with a welcoming smile. It is a blessing to know that he not only looks out for our safety but genuinely loves being at AC! Shout him out below!

Parents, the candy bars for our fundraiser are here! They are available for pickup Monday - Thursday until 5:15 pm and Friday until 3:30 pm. Please help our PTO raise money for our school! Our CKH word for the month of February is kindness. You can encourage kindness by discussing the little acts of kindness your child can show at home, school, or in the community. In the comments below, we would love for you to drop some Random Acts of Kindness ideas that children can do or that you and your children have done.
If your child is participating in the mini dance camp, please have them in the High School Auditorium by 6:15 pm tonight. They will be performing during halftime of the girls game. Thank you.

This message is from Alcorn Central Elementary School. Shortly, the AC campus will be conducting a lockdown drill. This is just a drill to help prepare our students and staff in the event we ever have an actual lockdown. Notification will be sent out once the drill is complete. Thank you.
Thank you to those that made it to our PTO meeting tonight! We appreciate your time and commitment. A few highlights:
1. The election committee was formed.
2. Fourth grade staff had the highest representation at the meeting. WooHoo!
3. Miranda Thomas won the Chik fil A gift card. Congratulations!
4. Spring fundraisers were set. First up will be our candy bar sales beginning in February. We want to see those funds grow, so we can begin construction on our outdoor classroom.
5. We began implementing Good Things and a Launch tonight, just like we do in our classrooms and at staff meetings.
6. Some good things shared were about the great things happening in Art class and all of the growth shown on our last benchmark exams. Fantastic!

*Tomorrow is the 100th day- students may wear a 100 Day shirt (kindergarten check with your teachers about specifics on your celebration if you have questions).
*Wednesday we will celebrate 101 Days of School with a 101 Dalamtians theme. There will be just one Cruella de Vil, and we ask that all students and staff dress as dalmatians or in black and white. Let's see how many dalamtians we will have.
*Thursday @5:30 -PTO meeting. Come help plan the semester.
*Friday- Grow to Glow party. Your child' s teacher will let you know if your child met the requirements, as well as other details. Notes went home last week.
