Parents, just a reminder and a word of caution:
A responsible adult must attend all sporting events with their middle school student. While our staff and event workers do their best to keep watch over students, we cannot be everywhere or control everyone’s attitudes, behaviors, or actions.
We have a football game tonight against a county rival, and we want it to be a fun, safe, and positive experience for everyone. Your support in supervising your child helps ensure that our games remain family-friendly and enjoyable for all.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe and represent ACMS with pride!

ACMS Character Trait of the Month: Self-Direction
https://youtu.be/noXBp1WWBwE
This month’s focus is on Learning to Be Self-Directed. Developing this skill empowers students to take ownership of their learning, manage their responsibilities, and grow in confidence.
We are excited that our middle school and high school students are working together to create a monthly video highlighting this trait. This collaboration is a wonderful example of how our students are:
✨ Learning Together
✨ Leading Responsibly
✨ Building Excellence
We can’t wait to see their creativity and leadership shine!

What an incredible Homecoming Week it has been at ACMS! I could not be more proud of our students, staff, and families. The energy, school spirit, and positive attitudes have filled our hallways and classrooms all week long.
What makes me the proudest is the balance I’ve seen—our students have celebrated and had fun while continuing to stay focused on their learning, and our staff has gone above and beyond to make sure the excitement of Homecoming was matched with strong teaching and meaningful learning opportunities. That balance is what makes ACMS so special!
To our parents—thank you for your continued support and encouragement. To our students—thank you for representing our school with pride, respect, and excellence. And to our staff—you are simply the best, and your dedication shines through in every way.
Homecoming Week has been a true example of what it means to Learn Together, Lead Responsibly, and Build Excellence!
— Proud to be your Principal

At ACMS, we remain data-driven and relationship-centered—and we’re striving to bring back the “A” in 25–26. Together, we’ll keep showing that ACMS Pride in everything we do!

In my six years at ACMS, this has been one of the most enjoyable Homecoming Weeks! Our students have embraced the festivities while also transitioning back into learning mode. With just a couple of days left in Homecoming and exams coming up next week, it’s very important that we finish strong.
At ACMS, we believe we can celebrate, have fun, and still stay focused on our mission to Learn Together, Lead Responsibly, and Build Excellence. Let’s carry that spirit into the days ahead!

We’re entering an exciting couple of weeks with Homecoming celebrations and the upcoming Benchmarks & Nine Weeks Tests. While the energy of Homecoming brings fun and school spirit, it’s also important to keep our focus on academics.
Please encourage your child to enjoy the activities while also preparing well for their tests. A good night’s rest, staying organized, and setting aside study time will make a big difference.
At ACMS, we believe in Learning Together, Leading Responsibly, and Building Excellence. Thank you for partnering with us to help your student shine both in the classroom and in all the exciting events ahead.

We’ve made it through a busy and sometimes stressful week together. Thank you, teachers, for your steady commitment to guiding our students, and thank you, parents, for your support and encouragement at home.
As we head into the weekend, let’s take time to rest, recharge, and celebrate the progress we’ve made. Together we are Learning, Leading, and Building Excellence—one day at a time.

ACMS Thursday – Patriots Day
Patriots Day is a remembrance day for many reasons, and we want to show our respect by wearing our best and brightest Red, White, and Blue outfits (Dress Code Applies).
🧢 Students will be allowed to wear caps in the hallways. Please remind your child to remove their cap respectfully if asked while in the classroom.
🎭 Our 8th graders will attend the Central Stage performance of “Tragedy to Triumph” at 1:45. If you would like to send a small donation to support future drama presentations and upgrades, we will collect those before leaving for the show.
For me personally, Patriots Day is a special remembrance. It always brings back memories of watching the events unfold when I was a teacher and coach here at Alcorn Central High/Middle School.
💛 Thank you for helping us honor this important day at ACMS. 💜
Don't forget to turn in your ACHS 2025 Homecoming t-shirt order forms and money to the school office or Mrs. Davis in the high school by tomorrow. The cost is $25.
