Alcorn School District will continue to release students at 2:00 for the remainder of the semester. District officials will reevaluate the situation before next semester and will make a decision at that time. #LearningToday #LeadingTomorrow

We HIGHLY encourage you to fill out the 2020 Census. It only takes a few steps and can help our school district and community greatly!
In 2010, Mississippi’s Census completion rate was 61.3%, and the state lost a congressional seat and millions in federal money. As of today, Mississippi’s completion rate is 59.3%. Our state risks losing millions in federal funds if all our citizens are not counted.

The ASD Board of Trustees received a kindhearted gift last night on behalf of the students and staff of Alcorn Central Middle School. ACMS signed a BIG thank you card for all the hard work and dedication on behalf of the school board and superintendent.

Thank you to our staff, students, and parents for working so hard to begin the school year. Now it's time to take a little break! Have a safe Labor Day.

Beginning September 8th, students will eat breakfast and lunch free!

We are so thankful that our friends Dr. Amy Davis and Nurse Danielle Wright of Magnolia Express Care helped educate our staff on best health practices for starting school. We have a great local medical community!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all our great ASD teachers! This week, let a teacher know how much you appreciate them! #LearningToday #LeadingTomorrow

Good Afternoon,
We just sent a text message to families in our district regarding a survey. This survey is requesting information regarding devices and Internet access for families at home. Please complete the short survey by May 7th.
We appreciate your participation.

This afternoon, Gov. Tate Reeves announced that Mississippi's public school buildings will remain closed through the end of this semester, though he emphasized that learning will continue.
Gov. Reeves acknowledged the amazing work of teachers, school leaders, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and other staff - as well as parents - to ensure that children avoid falling behind. It is important that students keep practicing the skills they learned before the COVID-19 outbreak and, to every extent possible, that they continue to make academic progress. Our staff is working hard to ensure that students have the resources they need to be prepared to be successful.
We are happy to announce that our feeding program will start back Monday, April 20th. At this time, the feeding program will follow the same schedule, Mondays and Wednesdays, as we did before the shelter-in-place began. Another set of learning packets will be ready to go out soon. Please be looking for a message from your school with details by the end of the week.

Staff, Students and Parents...Thank you for the hard work and dedication to the Alcorn School District! Friday and Monday are scheduled holidays so don’t worry with anything school related. Take some time to care for each other and celebrate the sacrifice and joy of Easter with your loved ones!

Governor Reeves has issued a “Shelter-in-Place” order for the State of Mississippi beginning on Friday, April 3rd extending through April 20th. The goal is to slow the spread of COVID-19. The order calls for individuals to stay home except for limited allowances such as retrieving needed supplies and medical care.
With the safety of our staff in mind, the Alcorn School District Feeding Program will be suspended during this period. All school buildings will be closed during this time. All ASD staff will be available through email. Teachers will continue to work from home and be available to students and parents through School Status or email. Learning opportunities have been communicated through various means during the closure. This will continue for the duration of the “Shelter-in-Place” order.

The Alcorn School District will change its “grab and go” breakfast/lunch pick up times to Monday and Wednesday ONLY beginning March 30th. These meals will contain breakfast and lunch meals for the week divided between the days. The district’s “grab and go” meal times are also changing. Times beginning Monday, March 30th, will be 10:00-12:00 noon. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Alcorn School District will be providing meals during the month of June through our Summer Feeding Program. This program is free and available to ALL children 18 years and younger. The Summer Feeding Program will take place on all three school campuses: Alcorn Central, Biggersville, and Kossuth. Meals will be served Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:30, and lunch will be served from 10:30-11:30. This institution is is an equal opportunity provider.
