🎉 We are thrilled to celebrate Mrs. Michelle Weaver, Alcorn School District’s Director of Curriculum, for being named the 2025 recipient of the Sara Maghan Professional Learning Leadership Award by Learning Forward Mississippi!

This statewide honor recognizes outstanding leadership in the design and implementation of professional learning that drives meaningful growth for educators and students alike. Learning Forward, a national organization dedicated to advancing professional learning for educators, promotes high standards and research-based practices that improve teaching and learning across schools.

Through her leadership, Mrs. Weaver empowers ASD educators to learn, lead, and excel—so they, in turn, can help their students do the same. Her commitment to purposeful, collaborative professional learning continues to shape a culture of excellence throughout the Alcorn School District. 👏

Fall End-of-Course Benchmarks Are This Week!
These benchmark tests help our teachers see what high school students have mastered and identify areas where they may need extra support before the state tests in December.
Please review the schedule and help ensure your child is present, on time, and well-rested so they can give us an accurate picture of how we can best support them in preparing for—and passing—the required state tests!

Meal App Letter

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Alcorn School District! We’re so excited to have you and your child join us for the 2025–2026 school year. As a parent of three myself, I understand how big of a transition this can be—for students and families alike. Please know that we’re here to support you every step of the way.
At ASD, we believe that all students can learn and grow—not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. From the first day of registration to the moment your child crosses the graduation stage, our mission is to create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment where every student can succeed.
We also know that strong relationships with families are key to student success. That’s why we’re committed to open, honest, and ongoing communication. Our team is here to listen, to support, and to partner with you as we help students Learn, Lead, and Excel.
Here’s to a great year ahead—we’re glad you’re here!
