Each month, we have a Capturing Kids’ Hearts word of the month that we focus on teaching throughout the school. As part of our CKH process, we recognize students in each grade level who are doing an exceptional job with showing the CKH character traits. A big shout out goes to the students who earned recognition for showing Responsibility and Respect! Each student recognized received a CKH sign to be proudly displayed in their yard at home. Way to go! We’re so proud of you!

School starts back tomorrow. The Strickland Bridge (near Hwy. 72) will be closed for repairs for the next couple of weeks. Car riders will need to make some adjustments. Buses may have to adjust their times as well. Sorry for the inconvenience, but glad to have the bridge repaired! WE ARE AC!

This week we have a guest reader for Bedtime Books! Mrs. Angela is reading Good Dogs, Great Listeners. This story is based on a true story about a little girl from Sandy Hook Elementary and her dog. Kindness is our CKH word for February, and this is a great story about showing kindness to animals. Watch all the way to the end for some bloopers! https://youtu.be/FcWikc00ufE

Today is National School Resource Officer Day! We can't say enough about Officer Darrell Bullard. He greets our students and staff members by name with a welcoming smile. It is a blessing to know that he not only looks out for our safety but genuinely loves being at AC! Shout him out below!

Our CKH word for the month of February is kindness. You can encourage kindness by discussing the little acts of kindness your child can show at home, school, or in the community. In the comments below, we would love for you to drop some Random Acts of Kindness ideas that children can do or that you and your children have done.
