Egg-citing review day in 5th grade! Students took part in The Ultimate Egg Hunt Review, searching for eggs filled with math, science, and ELA questions. Each egg gave them a chance to practice what we’ve been learning all year while thinking critically and working hard to solve each challenge. It was an egg-cellent way to review and keep everyone engaged as we get ready for testing!

We are so proud of our KMS students who represented our school at the Mississippi Junior Beta Club State Convention in Biloxi at the end of February. 8th grader, Mabri Glidewell, placed third in the Language Arts academic competition. Each of our members stepped up, stepped out of their comfort zones, and represented our school with leadership and character. Great job to all of these students!

We are incredibly proud to recognize Tammy Howie, Lisa Benjamin, Rachelle Fagan, Holley Jackson, Leah Hellums, Marlania Phifer, and Alecia Matheny as recipients of the You Make a Difference Award at Kossuth Middle School.
Each of these remarkable staff members pours their heart into our school every single day. Their kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students and community are felt in every hallway, classroom, and moment in between. They show up—not just to do a job—but to truly make a difference, and KMS is a better place because of them.
Thank you for all you do. Your impact is seen, valued, and appreciated more than words can express.

Ms. Mask had her 8th graders doing a "Guess My Transformation" activity to review what they have learned about different geometric transformations! Students examined clue cards and matched them to the correct transformation.

Last week, students in Miss Alea’s 5th grade science class explored the phases of the moon using Oreos.
Students had a blast creating each phase, getting hands-on, and seeing how the moon changes over time.

8th grade science did a Rock Cycle starburst lab yesterday. They used starburst to model the three kinds of rocks and how they transition throughout the cycle.

8th grade took a chance and tossed the dice in an activity that simulated a rock going through the Rock Cycle! #LearnLeadEXCEL #WeAreASD
