Business, Marketing, and Finance and Engineering II Students took a trip to Nashville for a behind the scenes tour of the Tennessee Titans Facilities. Students were able to explore career opportunities in media, finance, marketing, event planning, lawn and turf management, & more! To add to the excitement, students were also able to tour the Titan's Locker Room, try on equipment, tour the cheerleader/mascot dressing rooms, go into the largest suite, and play on the NFL football field. "Ag Power students have been hard at work building the panels that will be part of our new hog traps. Students designed a fabrication jig from an old shop table to make perfectly square panels every time without having to clamp anything down. The cutting crews learned about setting up stops to make repetitive cuts accurately, and the guys all learned about how teamwork makes everything work much smoother. I’m super proud of the hard work these young men and ladies have put into making this project a success. It won’t be long now until ACTC is trapping ferrel hogs for the public. If you or someone you know has an issue in the area, come by and see us at ACTC and we will discuss fixing the problem. Hurry before the wait gets longer." -Mr. Rodney Fagan

The Ag Power 1st year students have been working hard on the Maintenance unit and what better way to discuss maintenance of an irrigation system than to actually install an automatic irrigation system in our greenhouse? This is an awesome opportunity for some cross curricular integration with our Ag and Natural Resources class! Soon we will be state of the art in terms of irrigation!

ACTC FFA students attended a training session hosted by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce today as the first steps towards getting started trapping wild hogs. This is part of the grant our center received recently to partner with MDAC and local land owners that have problems with ferrel hogs. Students will be building these traps in the shop and soon they will be hitting the woods to help combat the problems in our state. "It’s always a pleasure to work with amazing young people, and these guys never disappoint! If you or someone you know has a ferrel hog problem, give us a call and we can put you on the list to come out and see what we can do."-Mr. Fagan
