KES IMPORTANT UPDATE Due to the increased number of Covid cases in our school and the number of students having to be quarantined, a policy was approved by the school board tonight requiring masks to be wore by all staff and students at our elementary school for the next three weeks. Please understand we hate this as much as anyone, but the only way to not quarantine so many students is to wear masks for now. We will re-evaluate in three weeks. Please see the plan Mr. Quinn sent out a few minutes ago and feel free to call me tomorrow if you have questions. This includes bus riders to and from school. All bus riders must wear masks to and from school. Thank You, Charla Essary

KES - One more thing.... At this time, masks are not required to be worn at school. That being said, if your child is in close contact with someone who tests positive for Covid, he/she will have to quarantine for 10 days. Again, it isn't required at this time, but I am encouraging staff and students to wear masks. There have been a lot of positive cases in our area. The masks keep your child from being quarantined MOST of the time, because they are not considered in close contact. This is the best chance to keep all of our kids in school. Have a great evening! KES Update: Thank you all for a great first week! I know car riders wasn't perfect, but for those who haven't been her for the first day before, it used to take until 3:50 - 4:00 to get everyone loaded in the afternoons. It will get better and better. Please hang in there with us. If you need to drop your children off before 7:25, they must be dropped off at the cafeteria. They cannot be dropped off at buildings. Early car riders may be dropped off at cafeteria at 7:15. We will not have people on duty to supervise students until these times. Some things you can do to help: In the mornings, have them on the left side of the car (for safety) with all of their things ready to unload. Adults, please do not get out of the car. Pull all the way up to the duty person to load/unload. We are able to load twice as many kids this way. In the afternoons: Please do not arrive early. On the first day of school, everyone was loaded by 3:30, which means car riders took between 30 and 40 minutes. Some people waited in line two hours before car riders started. There isn't a need for this, and it is a HUGE safety issue with traffic on CR 604 and Highway 2. If you have special circumstances you need help with or just have concerns, as always, please feel free to call me. Thank you all for your support of KES. Thank You, Charla Essary
