We want to give a big Alcorn Central welcome to our new ISS/ISD teacher and Head Softball Coach Mrs. Dylinn Rowland! It is a pleasure to have her aboard for this upcoming school year.
Rowland is not an Alcorn county native. She originates from California but is happy to make her home here with her husband and two beautiful daughters. She was drawn to Alcorn Central because of her love for a small community. “Everyone has welcomed me and my family with open arms!” stated Rowland.
Coach Rowland is joining the ACHS Golden Bear staff after having spent time coaching in the collegiate arena with stops at Blue Mountain College, Delta State University, and most recently as head coach of Mississippi Delta Community College. As a former collegiate athlete herself, having played at both Ole Miss and UAB, she is no stranger to the sport. She receives a Bachelor of General Studies with a triple minor in sports marketing, entertainment, and sociology. She is a licensed physical education teacher.
Her inspiration to teach is one of great significance to her. “When I was in school, I had a handful of teachers that changed my life for the better. I would like to have the same impact on our students!” mentioned the new coach. She is most excited about getting to know everyone in the Golden Bear family and of course softball season.
