We want to give a big Alcorn Central welcome to our new Anatomy & Physiology teacher and assistant cheer coach Mrs. Briley Powers! It is a pleasure to have her aboard for this upcoming school year.
Alcorn Central has been a major part of Briley’s life for as long as she can remember. She is a 2016 graduate of ACHS and is the daughter of two ACHS grads and married one as well. While a Golden Bear, she was involved in many student organizations and athletics. Powers said, “I am excited to come back and teach at a school that had such an impact in my life.”
Powers is new to the classroom but not to the content. She is a graduate of NEMCC and Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Science with emphasis in Sonography. She has worked for Magnolia Hospital in the radiology department since her time at NEMCC. Because of her medical background, she is licensed in health and anatomy & physiology. Her main goal for her students is for them to always strive to be the best version of themselves as they prepare to be successful at the next level.
As a new mom, family is very important to Powers. A favorite hobby of hers is to spend time with family. Her family focus will allow her to fit in well as a Golden Bear faculty member. Powers made a heartwarming statement saying, “I am excited to meet my first group of students and to make and grow relationships with the AC family.”
