We are very excited to be welcoming several new faces to Alcorn Central this year. The  Golden Bear Family is growing, and we are happy to share with you all of our new additions!

We are very excited to welcome John Mask to the Golden Bear family as one of our new teachers!

Mask is a long-time friend and supporter of Alcorn Central. He is an ACHS graduate and has since studied at Northeast Mississippi Community College and the University of Mississippi with a focus in Social Studies and Business Education. He has served the Alcorn School District for the last two years as a Technology and Media Specialist working at Biggersville, Alcorn Central, and the Career Center. During his time with the district, he oversaw Canvas, our learning management system, assisted with technology support, and helped maintain our district media presence through our website and other sources.

He will be joining Alcorn Central to teach Mixed Media Technology, Personal Finance, and Psychology/Sociology.  He also hopes to start a computer science program in the near future. Mask will continue his role as Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach with which he has been involved for the last several years.

In addition to teaching and coaching, Mask will help support a couple extracurricular activities. He will be starting and sponsoring a new ACHS Media Team that will incorporate all forms of media – broadcast, radio, marketing, print, and web design – to continue promoting the positive things that are happening at AC and help students understand the proper ways to communicate using different forms of media. Mask will also be advising our FBLA chapter. He brings with him plenty of experience with the business centered organization including a first place state competition title in both FBLA and PBL, Mississippi FBLA Who’s Who, Harold Harris FBLA Scholarship recipient, four-time national competitor, and 2017 Top 15 National Finalist.

Mask claims that his passion for education and desire to work in the school system developed during his freshman year of high school. “I have known for quite some time that I wanted to be involved in education. My goal is to help students build positive relationships, grow to enjoy learning, and learn how to be a strong leader.” He went on to say that he had many great teachers in his educational career and hopes to make as much of a difference on the lives of his students as they made on him.

Welcome Coach Mask! The Alcorn Central Golden Bear Family is proud to have you as a part of our spectacular team!!
