Mayan Newspaper from Spanish 3
Mrs. Leanne Williams has a few advanced foreign language students that are excelling! This group of students each year get fully submersed into Hispanic and Latin American culture while strengthening their vocabulary and polishing their fluency. She plans some really fun projects for them to see their skills grow throughout the semester.

Recently Spanish III students researched the Mayan and Incan cultures of Pre-Colombian Latin America and had to produce a newspaper describing their findings.  Written entirely in Spanish, these papers interpreted information through current event stories, advertisements, weather reports, editorials, cartoons, obituaries, Dear Abbey, the entertainment section, reviews, and interviews.

Students had such a great time with this project and were able to learn so much from this experience. This is just one of many examples of how Mrs. Williams’ Spanish students are #learninginACtion!
