The Alcorn Central Drama Club travelled to Starkville, MS to compete in the North Mississippi Drama Festival on the stage of Mississippi State University.
After a long weekend of shows, one of our students found his name on the list of All-Star Cast Members. John Mask was selected by the adjudicators to represent Alcorn Central as an All-Star Cast Member.
John has been an active member of the Alcorn Central Drama Club for three years where he served as reporter his junior year and currently serves as treasurer. John has performed with the Central Stage in productions such as: Letters Home, Yes, Virginia! There is a Santa Claus, A Wing and a Prayer, Mirrors, Horror High, and Boxes.
He has been involved with musical and dramatic theatre for close to thirteen years.
His favorite thing about theatre is the ability to transport yourself into a different world. He said, "I am thankful for the opportunity to work with my amazing castmates. Each show, we hope that our performance moves our audience to a new way of thinking. Theatre is more than acting, its a right of passage."
