What a GREAT week at AC! I’m especially thankful for the students who showed up today following a busy, busy, but productive Thursday! It would have been easy to take the day off, but you showed up and made it count!
Our students continue to work hard, get involved, and make AC a little better every day. We’re proud of them and appreciate your support!

Good afternoon, ACHS families! Tomorrow, (10/29) all students in grades 10–12 will attend the M-Power College & Career Fair at the Crossroads Arena to explore college, career, and workforce opportunities.
Please help your student prepare for a successful event by dressing neatly, showing interest in stations, gathering relevant information, and demonstrating respectful, professional behavior.
IMPORTANT: All students attending must report to the ACHS campus in the morning, including vo-tech students who normally drive to ACTC or first block college students. Students may NOT drive themselves to the event. Groups will be departing after morning announcements.
We look forward to our students making valuable connections and exploring their futures!

ACHS - Just a reminder that we will operate on an Early Release Schedule Monday, with dismissal at 12:30 PM. However, an early release doesn't mean a day without teaching and learning! All classes will meet, and we expect students to be present, prepared, and engaged.
Vocational students will report to ACHS Monday instead of ACTC.
Also, please remember that our school day begins at 7:50 AM, NOT 8:00 AM. Students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:50 each morning.
Thank you for helping us make every instructional minute count!

Today is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the men and women who transport our students to and from school daily. There are two ways you can help us show appreciation to our bus drivers:
1 - Share a kind word of gratitude or encouragement to show your thankfulness.
2 - Respect the school bus on the roadway by slowing down when you see it and abiding by the yellow and red flashing lights while loading and unloading students.
Alcorn Central is blessed with plenty of kind, caring folks that transport our students, and we are very thankful! #weareAC

📢 Stay in the know! Here’s how to make sure you’re receiving important ASD messages.

Homecoming makes parking even more challenging for many in our AC Community. Reminder that the elderly, disabled and veterans should be the ones parking closest to the field. WE ARE AC!

A Quick Note About ASD Attendance Notifications
You may have noticed that you’re receiving attendance notifications even when your child’s absence was excused.
We want you to know why—and why we see this as a good thing!
A new Mississippi law requires schools to notify families when a student reaches three cumulative absences, whether excused or unexcused.
This notification does not mean your child’s absence was unexcused. Properly documented excused absences remain excused.
While these communications are now required by the state, we welcome the opportunity to keep our families informed about their child’s attendance. The sooner we communicate, the sooner we can work together to support our students.
More communication. More connection. More support for our students. That’s a good thing.

We are excited about Homecoming Week, and we want everyone to have fun and show their AC spirit! Just remember that Homecoming Week does not eliminate our school expectations.
Please choose outfits wisely. Modesty and appropriate coverage still matter. Hats will be allowed throughout the week. Student devices are still off-limits during instructional time.
Most importantly, teaching and learning are still taking place, and attendance is being taken each day. Homecoming Week is a celebration, but it is still a school week!
Thursday will feature our Color Wars, and Friday’s Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally will take place from 8:30–10:30 AM. We will return to our regular school schedule following Friday’s festivities.
Have fun, participate, show your spirit, and represent AC with CLASS!
