Join NASSP, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of School Administrators in honoring the enormous contributions of assistant principals to student success. This year, our celebration takes on even greater significance as we recognize all that assistant principals have conquered amid the pandemic and consider what their ever-expanding and evolving role might look like moving forward. Through it all, America’s assistant principals have demonstrated unwavering leadership—becoming a source of strength and inspiration for us all.

The choir also ranked with an overall superior!

Alcorn Central High School is saddened to report the passing of David Nowell.
Mr. Nowell has been a big member of the Alcorn Central family. He is an ACHS graduate, longtime resident of Glen, and active participant in Alcorn Central activities. Mr. Nowell taught many AC students at the Alcorn Career & Technology Center in Ag & Natural Resources. He also helped get hundreds of students to and from school on his bus route in the Glen, Farmington, and Strickland communities.
He had such an infectious personality. His smile could brighten any day and his fun stories would pick up anyone that was down. He was passionate about agricultural education and was invested in his students through 4H and FFA.
We extend our sympathies to the Nowell family and all those Alcorn Central and ACTC students, teachers, and community members who have lost an advisor, mentor, and friend.

IT'S GAME DAY LADY BEARS!
Today's Alumni Spotlight for AC Softball is presented by Modern Woodmen of America representative and advisor Katie Wright.
Kim Kirkland played for Alcorn Central from 1996 to 2000. She played center field. Her fondest memory was from when the softball field had just been built and sod was being laid. Kim had the privilege of driving Coach Foster’s prized, purple jeep through the outfield to help lay the sod. Today Kim is married to her college sweetheart, and together they have 4 children. She has been a teacher for seventeen years at Alcorn Central Elementary School.
Brittany Terry played for Alcorn Central from 1998 to 2003. She played in left field. Her favorite memories consist of the bus rides and singing with Coach Foster. Today Brittany lives in Tupelo, is married, has one son, and teaches and coaches. Her team were state champions in 2017.
Jenny Thompson played for Alcorn Central from 1999 to 2003. She was a third basemen. Jenny says the best memories are from winning games. Today Jenny lives in Tupelo with her husband and step daughter. She coaches her step daughter’s fastpitch team with her husband. She works with Unity Hospice Care. Jenny is happy to announce that she has another daughter on the way; due in May!
We are wishing our Lady Bears Luck as they travel to Kossuth today for division play. #weareAC

IT'S GAME DAY LADY BEARS!
Today's Lady Bear Alumni Spotlight is brought to you by Katie Wright of Modern Woodmen of America.
Chrissy Atkins played for Alcorn Central from 1993 to 2000. She played third base, short stop, and pitched. Her fondest memories come from the bus rides home. There was never a dull moment. Today Chrissy works at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in the emergency department.
Joy Rhoads played for Alcorn Central in 1993 her senior year. This was the first year softball was brought to Alcorn Central. Joy was the pitcher for the team. Her favorite memory was when it was announced that slow pitch softball would be offered and the coach was Stephanie Huff. Joy was excited for the opportunity to be a part of Alcorn Central history. Today Joy is the proud mother of seven children and three grandchildren. She is especially proud that all of her children have and will graduate from her alma mater, Alcorn Central!
Best of Luck to our Lady Bears as they face Kossuth at home. #weareAC
