Tomorrow, our 11th-grade students will take the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Exam. This assessment measures foundational workplace skills and provides students an opportunity to earn nationally recognized credentials that they can showcase on future employment and college applications, as well as professional resumes.
Strong performance on WorkKeys benefits both our students and our school. Qualifying scores contribute to school accountability and student achievement, while higher-level credentials can earn students special recognition at graduation and may open doors to scholarship opportunities.

Alcorn Central High School invites you to join us on Tuesday, November 10, at 9:25 AM as we once again honor and celebrate the men and women who have served our nation in the United States Armed Forces! We appreciate the ability to partner with the City of Farmington each year on this event.
We are excited to welcome our veterans for a special morning of recognition and appreciation.
🇺🇸 Veterans Breakfast – 8:45 AM
Veterans are invited to enjoy breakfast with us before the ceremony. This breakfast is open to all veterans, and veterans with family members currently attending ACHS (grades 7–12) are especially invited to share this special occasion with their students.
🇺🇸 Recognition Ceremony – 9:25 AM
Our program will include:
- A special guest speaker
- Honorary performances by members of ACHS performing arts groups
- A special tribute honoring veterans connected to the ACHS family, both living and deceased.

Please help your student prepare for a successful event by dressing neatly, showing interest in stations, gathering relevant information, and demonstrating respectful, professional behavior.
IMPORTANT: All students attending must report to the ACHS campus in the morning, including vo-tech students who normally drive to ACTC or first block college students. Students may NOT drive themselves to the event. Groups will be departing after morning announcements.
We look forward to our students making valuable connections and exploring their futures!

ACHS - Just a reminder that we will operate on an Early Release Schedule Monday, with dismissal at 12:30 PM. However, an early release doesn't mean a day without teaching and learning! All classes will meet, and we expect students to be present, prepared, and engaged.
Vocational students will report to ACHS Monday instead of ACTC.
Also, please remember that our school day begins at 7:50 AM, NOT 8:00 AM. Students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:50 each morning.

Today is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the men and women who transport our students to and from school daily. There are two ways you can help us show appreciation to our bus drivers:
1 - Share a kind word of gratitude or encouragement to show your thankfulness.
2 - Respect the school bus on the roadway by slowing down when you see it and abiding by the yellow and red flashing lights while loading and unloading students.
