The ASD will be dismissing at 1:30 today March 4, 2025 due to the inclement weather conditions moving into the area. All ASD after school activities (including after school tutoring, practices, meetings, and sporting events) have been cancelled.

Anyone interested in trying out for cheer, should see Mrs. Powers to receive a tryout packet. Cheer clinic will be held March 3-5 with tryouts March 6. These tryouts are for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. See Mrs. Powers for more information.

Congratulations to Ryder Warhurst for signing with Northeast Community College Cross Country! Ryder has been part of the Golden Bear Cross Country and Track & Field programs for three years. During those years, Ryder has delivered successful seasons in the programs:
- 2 Time MHSAA Cross Country All-State Team (2023-2024)
- 2 Time MHSAA Region 1-3A Cross Country Champion (2023-2024)
- 2024 MHSAA 3A Cross Country State Runner-Up (Individual)
- 2024 MHSAA 3A Track & Field 3200m 3rd Overall
- 2023 MHSAA 3A Cross Country State Runner-Up (Team)
- 2023 MHSAA 3A Track & Field 4x800 Relay State Runner-Up
- State 5K School Record Holder: 17:19
The accolades speak for itself for Ryder’s running career here at Alcorn Central. We know he will be a great addition to the Northeast Tigers Cross Country Program! We wish him the best in the upcoming 2025 season!

ASD will be on regular schedule, February 20, however we need to cancel 1st block Career Center classes to allow them time to work on their parking lot. All students who attend 1st block ACTC classes should report to the ACHS campus 1st block.
Bus #166 will be operating on a delay this morning due to mechanical issues. Please be prepared for late arrival times and plan accordingly.
Congratulations to 8th graders Scarlett Foster, Chloe Hamlin, and Jordy Nelson as well as 11th grader Dylan Gofourth for participating in the Northeast Mississippi Band Directors Association Honor Band. This was a great weekend, and we are so proud of all these students! #weareAC

National FFA Week is February 15-22 . No school on Monday for President's Day. Tuesday we will start a few Dress up days, Tuesday is Farmer vs Hunter, Wednesday is Western Day, Thursday is Ag Career Day/Dress like your Ag Teacher and Friday is Blue and Gold Day/PJ Day. Let's Show our Support for this great organization.

Due to the threat of severe weather on Saturday, Our 2nd Round Basketball Playoff Game against Cahoma County will be played on Friday Night at 6pm at Cahoma County. If you can travel to support those hard working guys they would greatly appreciate it.
2025 Kindness Week

Today was a great day for ACHS Baseball team, Our very own Noah Canten has signed to play baseball with Itawamba Community College. We are very proud of Noah and can't wait to see what his future holds. #weareAC.

This past weekend, Dylan Gofourth and Brayden Whitehead traveled to Hattiesburg, MS, to participate in the prestigious William Carey Honor Band. Both students showcased their exceptional musical talents, earning 2nd chair in the Top Band—an impressive achievement among some of the best young musicians in the region!
